Titusville
Hi everyone, well, once again I cannot get the pictures to cooperate!!! We'll try again later. Well we returned to Titusville and took advantage of the car to get groceries and gas. Then the rental car went back. We decided to stay here for the holidays. The dock is already paid for- it was less expensive to pay for a 1 month stay then to pay for 1 1/2 weeks- isn't that silly. So since it is paid for we decided to get some projects done. We have been going through the boat, clearing out books and things we don't need, adding cleats, making a stern chain locker, etc. And Jim- Rob finally installed the bollard cleat you gave us in St. Catharines!!! See better late then never- we'll use it with the stern CQR chain.
The kids discovered if they do dishes on the dock and leave the water running the manatees come running and play with the fresh water- they love it! The manatees are just huge, really neat animals. The kids love it here, the weather is just perfect. Beautiful everyday and the evenings are cool enough for a wonderful and comfortable sleep. We have met a family also at the dock who are very kind and generous, they are from Rochester, NY. Also met a young couple in the anchorage from Maryland (Sweden originally) and also met the Bicho Feo family passing through- we met them in Cape May and they have kids. They are wonderful- their boat name means "Ugly Bug". Very cute. Also met "Meggie" who we met in St. Catharines and we have been looking for them for the entire trip!! Everyone out there cruising seem to be very helpful and friendly and we have very much enjoyed meeting some great people.
We wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year

I assume you are now in salt water.
Do manatees live in salt water?
How long have the other cruising families been sailing?
We have been in salt water ever since the end of the Hudson River. I'm not sure why the Manatees go so nuts for the fresh water, they are a salt water animal. They roll around and play in it and everything! The family on White bird are only going this one time to the Bahamas and have been sailing for a long time in Lake Ontario. The young couple on Whisper from Maryland (and Sweden) did the same as us and have just taken up sailing and outfitted their boat.
