Crossing to Toronto
Well we managed to mind the weather and set our schedule back another 4 days, and we were all very happy about it. Apparently Hurricane Ernesto had something to say about our plans to cross the lake. So we spent most of the labour day weekend watching the waves crash over the breakwall and a made trip to the Drive-in.
On Monday Ernesto's Easterlies shifted to Westerlies at 15-20knots so we headed out. The wind shifted to the NW earlier than expected so we made most of the trip pretty hard on the wind.

Although we plotted a course to Scarborough the night before with the good visibility we modified our navigation strategy. Our new plan was point the nose of the boat at the CN tower and then hang a right. So this is what we did and it worked out just fine the whole trip took about 6 1/2 hours the first four pointing towards Toronto and the last couple towards the bluffs.

The bluffs are a really nice back drop to live by for a while.

The engine ran rough coming into the Bluffs Marina so we had the engine looked at again. Mandy almost fell over when the mechanics said, "sure we aren't busy we will be right over". They tweaked the timing belt and adjusted the carburetor, it was way to rich, and it seems to have helped so far. We have spent the best part of 2 weeks running around shuffling paperwork, picking up last minute supplies for the boat, and visiting. Once we make arrangements to get rid of the van and the wind turns in our favour we will head out. Most likely we wil make our first stop Frenchmans Bay for more visiting early next week.
