North Carolina

Hi Everyone,
Yes we still can't get the pictures to work, a lot of WiFi's don't seem to allow that. So we may have to just go nuts on the pictures when we get to Orlando and visit my good friend Trace and use her computer!!
The intracoastal waterway has been great. It changes, sometimes you're crossing a sound (big body of water separated from the ocean by a tiny little bit of land), sometimes it's rivers, and sometimes it's just a big ditch! The scenery is starting to change now. Tall trees with little foliage on the bottom, very scraggly- seems swamp like. Palm trees are around now- not native but planted on private property. Lots of pelicans too. And the other day we pulled over into a channel that you can use to anchor because a very large barge was exciting the canal- and we had to take our sails down anyways. Well 4 dolphins came running over and played with our boat!! We couldn't believe it, the kids were shrieking and so excited, they talked about it for hours afterwards and drew lots of dolphin pictures! I didn't think we would see them in North Carolina.
We are now in Swansboro and heading towards Wilmington NC today. Things are going well. Shadow's tail is almost healed now. The weather yesterday was a balmy 78C so we aren't complaining. It is supposed to cool down now into the 60's and then 70's again next week. So we continue to push south.
Last night this little town- very Niagara-on-the-Lake like- had a little craft/Christmas festival- yes already on Nov 11! Everyone here is gearing up for Thanksgiving.
Will write again as soon as we can. Thinking of everyone.
