Hudson River Pics!

The Hudson river was beautiful with all the fall colours. We even got past the changing leaves when we got to New York and actually thought we were free of the cold!!

We spent Thanksgiving (Canadian) at Waterford, NY. This is a huge free dock at the end of the Erie canal where almost everyone stops to restock and rest before the Hudson.

We prepared chicken with stuffing, mashed potatoes and veggies. It was great. Very nice celebration.

Then on to the Hudson, most was very industrial and nothing to speak of but some parts were very pretty. this is a very neat tallship which earned me a chocolate bar!!
We also got to see the tallship "Amistad" along the way too.

Some friends helping with putting the mast back up. To take it down you have to use Oswego marina but you can opt to put it up again yourself at Castleton.

I also really like this picture, turned out very well, there are lots of tankers and tugs all along the trip.

This is Jeff from the sailboat "Serenity"- we helped with putting up his mast. He was very nice and moved on when we stopped in New York City. The Ozzy Ozbourne song "Dreamer" is a very peaceful song, believe it or not, about peace on Earth, etc. In it he says " if only we could all just find serenity". Well we found Serenity and it had a funny guy named Jeff on it!!!! I guess it's our little inside joke.

This is the castle that we anchored behind. It was called Bannerman and was an old arsenal. It was pretty cool. The kids really enjoyed this anchorage.

It was really beautiful at this location of the river, this is very soon before getting into New York City.

Very pretty with the sun setting behind the castle.

Wanted to get a shot with the boat and the castle behind it. In the morning before leaving the whole area was enveloped with fog and we could hardly even see the castle anymore.
