Miami Beach!!

Hi everyone, I'm at an internet cafe because our computer completely died. The airport went first and now I can't even get it to turn on!! Sorry Uncle Craig- no idea what happened with it since we keep it safe in its case down below. Anyways, we made it to Fort Lauderdale. I wasn't impressed with West Palm Beach. Very snobby people with way too much money and they complain if a sailboat is parked in their waters outside of their condos! We went with Whisper down to Fort Lauderdale and found Lake Sylvia to anchor in and then a mad rush for supplies to get ready for the Bahamas. Went to West Marine, and Sailorman- second hand boat stuff, groceries, etc. Later "Meggie" arrived- Mike and Kylie who we met back home at St. Catharines. They are doing well and feel a little stressed that they haven't jumped yet. We moved on to Miami and are anchored across from Southbeach. What a place- women mostly made of plastic, muscle men, flamboyant outfits, etc, even topless around the pools of the condos!! Tonnes of cafes everywhere too, every trendy and happening here. We're of course trying not to spend anything and lugging laundry to the laundrymat while I find a computer!! The cruising life is never dull.
Some notes: we found the best Key Lime pie ever in Lantana Florida- Hans and Kristen will agree, nothing has topped it yet.
We'll likely try to cross with Meggie, we are similar speeds and it's nice to have a buddy boat to be in radio contact with. We had to part ways with Whisper 2 days ago. They are staying in Fort Lauderdale and crossing to the Abacos. We need to be further south and are crossing to the Exumas. They also had mail to wait for and other provisioning things. It was a tearful parting- for me anyways! We miss them and hope we can meet up again in the Exumas. Kristen and Hans are good friends and we had lots of fun with them.
The weather is north winds until next week so we'll be here a while! Hope everyone at home is doing well. For those who don't know if you try to cross with north winds the Gulf stream that goes up the coast here gets very churned up to 9 feet and higher waves. So a southeast is the only good way to go. So we wait!
