USA, we made it back!
Well, we're back in the USA!! We did it and crossed the Gulf stream again and came in safely to Cape Canaveral. The crossing went very well, perfect really. There was hardly any swell and the trip was calm and peaceful. Whew. Once in port we checked into customs with relative ease and enjoyed our day at Cape Canaveral. We walked over 2 miles so we could hit the dollar menu at McDonalds!!!! Hmmmmm beef, we haven't had a burger in sooooo long!! Later we watched the Disney Cruise ship leave for destinations we'd just been at.
Later we purchased fresh shrimp for a dinner feast. They were doing research on a loggerhead turtle at the time. It is hard to see in the picture but they have a huge turtle on the table and they are finishing up endoscopy. It was very cool, the researchers all came over and explained what they were doing. When Abbey announced I was a vet we got even more in depth talks and the head vet came over just to meet us.
Maggie enjoying her freedom on a beach in the Bahamas. She did amazingly well on the trip. Very good dog, never sea sick and very obedient and just the right amount of barking at the right time for boat security but never a pain at an anchorage keeping anyone awake or anything like that.
The kids on our last secluded beach at Crab Cay. The only place in the Abacos we could find to have all to ourselves. I told Rob that before we left the Bahamas I would really like one last fresh Grouper dinner and one last secluded beach all to ourselves. Well Crab Cay was great for that and Rob caught a great Grouper at Green Turtle for an amazing dinner.
Mandy getting ready for the Grouper dinner!!!
Dolphins at the bow playing in the water. The last time the water will be so clear that you can see everything!
Maggie and Shadow love to poke their heads out of the hatch. It's very cute and I finally got a good picture of it. This is at Cape Canaveral.
Shadow wandering on the beach at Crab Cay, Abacos
Matthew carved out a new friend from a coconut. He did a really good job too!
Snowday at anchor in Crab Cay.
Captain Rob, we're all so proud of him
The tasty last grouper, caught in the little hurricane hole at Green Turtle.
Matthew learning to use his pocket knife. Turned out to be a very special birthday present that he received prior to the cruise. Matthew has felt very special that we got him that and trust him with it. He is making a Harry Potter wand!!
Rob anchoring our dinghy, the Walker Bay has turned out to be great. A very sturdy and recommended dinghy for the trip.
Shadow, he has done well just like Maggie. He loves everyone he meets and his tail is perfectly healed so you can't tell anything ever happened!!
Matthew playing with David from Contented turtle at Green turtle Cay. They get along very well and always enjoy playing together. We were in Green Turtle for 1 week due to weather.
