Black Point Settlement
Hey Everyone,
Well, we left the beauty and peace of Emerald bay Marina and braved the Exuma Sound. It was a bit of a nasty run and everyone felt queasy- that's what we get for sitting at a cushy dock! Basically what everyone has to do is go out in the big sound with ocean swell until you can take a safe cut to the west side which is the Bahamas banks. The banks are shallow and no swell so even in high winds you can continue to cruise. So we took the first cut and tucked away nicely at Darby island. It was perfect. We stayed there with our buddy boat Kismet for days and the winds clocked around from E to SE to SW, W than NW. Lots of the boats that we know had troubles as they were in an exposed anchorage for it. We had lots of fun, explored a ruined mansion, swimming, beach trip, etc. Rob and Chris caught so much Grouper and Lobster we didn't know what to do with it. Kismet moved on and so now we are in Blackpoint meeting new friends. The kids immediately befriended Odyssy as they have kids and video games!! The weather has been windy, squalls and unsettled at night but we are safe and okay thanks to wise anchorage decisions. Tomorrow we'll be joining some great buddy boats we met at Emerald Bay and hopefully do some fun snorkeling.
Hope everyone is well back home, we'll check in when we can. For the next week or so we likely won't have email but then once we get to the Abacos it'll be available again. We're aiming for Nipper's- a bar in the Abacos that has a huge Easter Egg bash for the kids. Talk to you soon!
