Norfolk, Virginia

These are the pictures of Elizabeth City boat races, Dismal Swamp and the Norfolk Tallship festival that go with the last post.

These little hyproplane boat where what they were racing at Elizabeth city. The course was right behind our free slip in the harbour. A little bit different technology than what we were to see in Norfolk.

Dismal Swamp South of the canal.

Dinner at the rest stop in the Dismal Swamp Canal. BBQ pork, yummy!

The waterfront was crowded at Norfolk with all the tall ships.

One of the replica ships sailing off tuesday morning.

Just turn your head sideways and you can see that this is the main mast of the Kalmyr Nickel, Delawares replica tall ship when "New Sweden" was being settled.

We also got a good close look from our dinghy.

This is why sun screen is important as the summer sun intensifies.

Heading North with the "Prince William" training ship towards Hampton Roads.

Captains Quarters on "Snow day". Yeah Right!

Another really big dinghy at the Norfolk Tall Ship Festival.
